About
During my early teens, I started designing and building websites for personal projects. I especially enjoyed creating a visual identity for each new project, getting to choose colors, fonts and graphics and play around with them until the vision came together.
I started with Web development and design, but later specialised in design only, getting to work as Web, UI/UX and Product designer in multiple B2B tech companies.
Being the daughter of an artist I am drawn to visual aesthetics both on screens and in real life, which is why I also love photography, interior design and architecture.
Outside of design, I love social dancing, especially Latin American styles. I eat plant-based food only and value the natural world for insights and inspiration.
My Design Manifesto
The following is a manifesto that explains what I value and believe is important when creating designs.
Considering the Greater Picture
Ideally, I would not be satisfied with designing just a website or a flyer. I want whatever I am creating to be a part of an overall branding strategy, where all the visual assets I design for the company look cohesive and recognizeable and help to convey the brand message. It’s important to me to design according to an existing brand guideline and if your company doesn’t have one - help creating it from scratch.
Paying Attention to Aesthetics
It might seem superficial to say “I want to design pretty things”, but it has been scientifically proven that people perceive beautiful things as more trustworthy and “better”, being more willing to forgive usability shortcomings if the website or interface looks pretty.
Products with a high emphasis on aesthetics can also charge higher prices, even if their core functionalities are no different than their competitors’ (think Apple). Beauty is one of human needs, therefore it would be counterproductive to overlook it and pretend it doesn’t matter.
Creating Timeless & Classic Designs
I love creating timeless and classic designs that will not look outdated in a few years. Trends can change quite fast and companies might have to spend more resources if they have to redesign their products often to stay relevant.
