Brand & Graphic Design for Jettence

Title: Jettence - Dance Education Company (personal project) • Timeline: 2020–present

After years of experience in Latin-Americal social dances I wanted to start sharing my thoughts and expertise and create a brand, under which I could do both dance teaching and sharing my expertise via blog and social media.

I created a blog and 4 social media channels, which all shared the same brand identity under the name of Jettence. I designed the website, marketing graphics for social media and did video editing.

The online presence has landed me dance local and international teaching opportunities in person and online. The blog has also attracted companies to advertise on my website (sponsored posts/affiliate links).

Project included:

  • Brand design

  • Graphic design

  • Web design and development

  • Content creation

  • Social media strategy

  • Video editing

Technologies used:

  • Wordpress

  • Adobe Suite ( Premiere Pro, XD, Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • Custom CSS

  • Canva

Style Guide

I wanted to make Jettence a brand with its own visual language so I put in effort to create it’s own style guide with brand color palette and set typography. I use Sketch app for MacOS to design graphic elements for Jettence therefore it made sense to also keep the style guide as a Sketch file.

Website & Blog

The website is built with Wordpress with a theme that I tweaked with custom CSS.

Social Media

During the first year of the project I created a strong social media presence. My social media strategy was as follows:

  • Facebook for sharing new blog posts, choreographies and announcing teaching events

  • YouTube for showcasing my choreographies through higher quality videos

  • TikTok for short choreographies and other fun dance related videos

  • Instagram as a central hub for everything above

Over the time I learned which channels were the most successful and got rid of what wasn’t working. With a combination of personal reasons and best ROI, I chose to focus mostly on the blog, with Instagram as the additional social media channel.

YouTube

YouTube was a place where I added full HQ choreography videos that I filmed and edited with Adobe Premiere Pro. Along choreographies there were also some teaching videos.
